![]() ![]() He was appointed to City Council and then later voted in as mayor of Lacona. He was an EMT / Firefighter volunteer for 42 years, holding the positions of Rescue Chief and Fire Captain. Part of that learning came from his love of being a member of the Lacona Fire Department, Warren Co Mutual, and Western Iowa Mutual Insurance. He would often say he had 84 years of learning at the University of Life. He then worked McConnell Concessions for 20 years until his last figure 8 race on May 22, 2021. He owned and operated Whole Punch for 5 years. Which he owned and operated for 22 years. In 1969 he moved back to Lacona and worked on the family farm, before opening Dittmer Sales and Services. While working construction he traveled with the family all over the state of Iowa. In 2007 he was united in marriage to Charlotte Heaton.įranklin was a hard worker and in 1960's he worked for Bobby Obrien Construction, Merrick, JD Armstrong, and Dusenberg Construction. She is survived by her daughters Linda (Dave) Secor of Cedar Falls, Iowa Lisa (Curtiss) Koenig of Sloan, Iowa granddaughter Jessica (Brandon) Meyer of Sloan, Iowa and step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nephew, niece and cousins. Sandra’s hobbies included cooking, canning, camping, crafting, and recipe collecting. Poor health struck Sandra at the early age of 50 with two strokes followed by diabetes. The couple lived on the Goltry Century Farm east of Russell, Iowa where two daughters, Linda DaLene and Lisa Renee blessed their home. This eventually led to Sandra and Duane Goltry’s marriage on November 11, 1956. However, her first job at the Chariton City Hall gave her the opportunity to meet a young Air Force Airman who had to pay for a speeding ticket while home on furlough. Sandra worked for Marilyn Garten Tax Services, Rathbun Regional Water Association, and at the Lucas County ASCS office. She had fond memories of spending time with her friend Mary Jo (Stone) Morse, roller skating and riding the train from Chariton to Lacona to visit her grandparents Bill and Carrie Crawford. She attended and graduated from Chariton High School in 1954. ![]() Her younger years were spent growing up in Lacona, Iowa Hasting, Nebraska and Chariton, Iowa. Sandra was born July 28th, 1936 in Lacona, Iowa to Ernest Henry Fogle and Helen Iola (Crawford) Fogle. 5th, 2019 at the age of 82 at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola, Iowa. ![]()
